Sailing has been a primary tool in the exploration of planet earth for centuries. That’s no shocker. Whilst hiking across the Oregon Coast, I occassionally come across a monument or information center describing how the surrounding areas were visited by sail borne expeditioners hundreds of years ago. They were out on the high seas, exposed to the elements, before eVent fabric, before fiberglass, before dacron, before motors, and yeah… before electricity and batteries and GPS. They were out there, and the best many of us can do is drive up to a scenic viewpoint on the roadside and wonder how they did it.

Sail To Trail proclaims that the explorers and pirates in the days of yore did it better. Get a boat… Live on it… Sail it. Explore everything. Just because someone else was there before you is no excuse not to go now. We have technology. It’s good. Use it.
